clivengu
I just received a draft 3ds max model from my client. it is a model of a building. But the problem is, he has never set the unit to mm (which usually we will in architecture) I think he model all the way using "generic unit" So when i change my unit to mm... i get a few hundred kilometers size model~~!!! What is the best way to rescale it back to its actual size? Cause the current size could be problematic when using lighting...
Bruce Hart
If you set Max to be the scale you want on a blank drawing, then open the drawing in question - it will detect a unit mismatch and ask you to rescale the new drawing to the default units. Say yes, and if you're lucky this may actually work. It may be that you need to just scale the geometry to the right size. This leaves you with the problem that the UVW mapping will be at the wrong scale. In that case try the Reset Xform utility.
