Dodger57
Hi all, Due to diabetes I've lost about 80% of my eye sight. Needless to say my Max days are over. I was wondering if it is possible to sell my copy of Max - it's the 32bit version of 2009 reg and design. I would sell at a fairly discounted price so someone who couldn't afford the full version could get a foot in the door. Any thoughts on this? I sent an e-mail to Autodesk 3 weeks ago and have yet to get a response. Phone calls get routed into endless loops. I thought someone here may know or has done it before. AJLynn
Yeah, see, Autodesk puts in their license agreement that you can't sell the license, but they lost a court case when somebody who was trying to resell on Ebay argued that that license clause is illegal. So now they've got this big old gray area and I wouldn't be surprised if they were just dealing with it by not saying anything on the subject until they can try to get it reversed on appeal. So yes, since you're in the US, it's legal to sell your license, but I wouldn't expect Autodesk to make it easy for you to do so. A workaround would be that if your 3D business is a company and owns the copy of Max, you can sell the company and the license would go with it - Autodesk doesn't seem to mind this and in the past has been cooperative. Dodger57
Thank you for your reply! Seems like, rather than fight with them over any type of transfer, the best option might be to simply give the new owner my info so that they can activate, update, etc...? Thanks again!
