Interpolation Mapping on IR-Map "From File" mode

I'm working with a 700 frame, interior fly-through scene with a lot of lights and using the usual IRmap/LC render strategy. What's killing me though, is that after pre-calculating all the GI and switching it all to "From File" mode Vray still needs to calculate Interpolation Maps for the GI (this looks very very similar to simply recalculating the IRMap)

These maps are the interpolation of the IR-Map samples, specified under the "Advanced Options" in the IRMap rollout. In most tutorials i see on the subject, Vray goes directly to rendering when using "From File" mode, but i seem to get stuck recalculating interpolation every frame (which adds 2 mins/frame and potential flicker since it's guessing differently each frame)

My current setting under "Advanced Options" are Least Squares Fit, with Density Based sample lookup, Randomized Samples with Multipass interpolation

So: Why am i seeing this interpolation mapping each frame and how to do interpolate the whole thing once and be done with it?

The interpolation you are seeing is not GI related. It's simply your materials (at least one of them), that have interpolation on. Normally people turn reflection interpolation on in order to get smoother blurry reflections, but forget that this adds an extra pass, calculated by the IrrMap.

Whenever I'm working a project that is animated I go through the materials and make sure I'm not using any interpolation. It's going to increase your render time by not using the interpolation, but it's going to keep you from getting any flickering. The two minutes you save by not having that extra prepass will be eaten up by extra time it will need to render the materials, but the result will be better. So keep in mind, you need to do this but it is going to make your overall render time longer.
