borisdabadger
hi, im hoping theres a simple solution but when i view these shapes in orthographic view the model is distorted and shows back edges, yet it is fine in perspective and camera views (please see jpeg) haven't come acorss this before and can't find a solution, any suggestions thanks rich Edited April 7, 2010 by borisdabadger
Peter M. Gruhn
Looks like you've got some faces flipped. A viewport can be configured to force 2 sided while other viewports do not. I can not maximize a single view and toggle between User and Camera and have different 2-sided settings. In past I've had behaviour that made me think I could. If you aren't toggling views with the keyboard, but are useing the maximize viewport toggle and switching views by clicking in order to bring us the screen cap then there's greater chance that you just have your camera vp set to force 2-sided. 2-sided standard material shows up well in both. But maybe there's a graphics driver issue and (for reasons I can't guess at) yours bails on making polys 2-sided in orthographic views. I can vaguely allow as to how that might be possible. Did you make this geometry? Where? Sketchup?
borisdabadger
thanks peter, geometry is imported from cad. Ive tried flipping normals and selecting forced-2-sided in viewport configuration but no joy. any suggestions? r
