Stan Zaslavsky
A client has asked for this type of flooring in the interior image. See image below: I've used Floor Generator script previously for floorboards - but has anybody used it to create parquetry? Alternatively what would you do to create this? thanks in advance for your help
Frosty
Just a thought, but it you turn it 45 deg you should be able to make a tile map in PS. Then when you apply it, turn it back 45 deg.
Stan Zaslavsky
Thanks Steve. Ideally I'd like it to be modelled - then I can vary the texture colour through MaterialByElement. another thought i had was to generate a poly of a row of tiles and then create another one turned 90deg - then add them together until i cover the entire floor area. Then intersect this with an extrusion of the floor shape. I havent tried this yet - but it might work as all will be polys and so independently they can be varied in colour. WAcky
try modelling one of the boxes turning it 45 degrees then copy it and rotate that 90 degrees. Line the second one up with the first by using a 2.5d snap, then grab those two, shift-drag them up and snap them into the right position and when the copy dialogue box comes up, set the clones to 100(for eg) then grab the column of pieces, shift-drag-snap it to the left or right into the correct position and enter a number in the number of clones box and there you go. Attach all the pieces, add your materialbyelement modifier and perhaps boolean the edges if need be!
