nelpiper
Hi guys. I saw a thread here about getting EXR files from MAX and from converted vrimg files. I did some tests myself and came up with these images. They seam to have a hugh difference in luminance between each other. The one that came from the vrimg conversion (image 2) seams much better than the one straight from MAX (image 1). Does anyone know why? Thank you. BrianKitts
The one straight from max has a gamma correction applied to it. If you were to apply an exposure correction in photoshop to the second image (2.2) the would both look the same. If you change the output gamma in 3dsmax to 1, they would both render the same without any post adjustment in photoshop.
nelpiper
You're right Brian, that was my bad. That's not what I meant. Sorry guys. I'm gonna post other images but what happens when I rendered the image and converted from vrimg to EXR is that the opacity was somewhat strange. Does anyone know how this vrimg format works? Thank you.
