fael097
Hi, i just opened this thread to share my frustration with turbosquid. I was checking my TS reports, like i do everyday, and noticed a ticket that TS support opened to contact me, saying that i had a copyright infraction on a product. very well, i answered asking what product, so i could do something about it, like defend myself and prove that the product was mine, but the only answer i got was this We have the right to decide who is eligible to conduct business on our site and who is not. We have made the decision that your account with not be re-opened. There are other venues in the 3-D Marketplace where you can post. We ask that you not continue to open tickets on this matter. and they never told me what have i done. funny thing, that happened like 5 days before i was about to receive almost a hundred dollars, when my sales were increasing more than 100%, and i was about to become a silver member. got banned for no reason at all, and obviously i didn't get my money. doesn't it looks suspicious? and TS is Autodesk's official source huh... lame... despite of that, 55% cut for new members is a rip off. that's stealing, and i would sure sue them if i was in the US. gonna post a screenshot of the whole conversation later. Devin Johnston
Did you try calling them and talking to someone face to face as it were? I've never sold anything on their site but I've purchased plenty and I've always gotten great customer service. As for them stealing I don't think that's a fare statement to make although I do believe that taking a 55% cut is excessive, that's why I'd never sell anything with them. Brian Smith
Your statements are not fair imo and pretty naive. To use the term stealing is way over the line, as you agreed to the commission ahead of time. That commission btw is pretty standard. Most companies that sell online charge similar fees...it's the cost of doing business and the cost of using their network. I dont like it any more than you as i sell products myself and i simply can't use resellers for my books as most of my books cost far more than 55% of their retail price. Heck even Amazon charges 55% for all accounts that they do fulfillment on. Are they stealing too? What about retailers in other industries?...because standard wholesale pricing is typically half of retail. There's got to be more to it than you're describing. I know some of the people at Turbo Squid very well and they are highly professioanl and very kind. Just my 2cents.
DanGrover
Uhh guys, I think he meant they were stealing because people had bought his product, but TS shut his account before sending him the money. Assuming, of course, that he is indeed innocent, that is stealing really. Unless TS also refunded the customers who had bought his products the money, in which case it's just a massive, awkward balls up.
Trick
Although somewhat confusing, I also read the "banned before payed" fact as stealing and not the 55% cut, and I'm not even native English. Starting sentences with a capital could help. Contact Beau Perschall (I hope I wrote this right) about this: he's a very straightforward guy who certainly won't fool you ! mbousquet
Hi, this is Michele Bousquet from TurboSquid. For privacy reasons we generally don't discuss people's private account matters publicly. However, fael097, since you have taken this public, we think it fair to present the fact that your account was suspended because we detected illegal activity in connection with your account. We don't do such a thing lightly. We suspend an account only after a great deal of research, and confirmation that such activity is taking place. I'm sure everyone here would not stand for people who attempt to make money from other people's hard work, and neither does TurboSquid. Thanks, everyone, for piping in here. We strive to treat our artists and customers as we'd like to be treated--fairly, courteously, and professionally. I'm glad to know that many of you have experienced this. pkrol
I am sure there is a reason for them closing the account permanantely. Although I hate this whole 40% royalty thing and the guild I have to say that they are very solid and professional as a company, so as their support is. I think that unless you have a clear proof of them doing something against the law (in general or their own policy) it should be the matter between you and the company. How about making a sticky topic on our 3d marketshare experiences?
