david.s
Having tried the Cinema 4D v11.5 demo, my ultimate fantasies for Max include: 1. Being able to continue working on the scene while rendering. Something I had never considered possible before trying C4D! 2. Being able to open more than one max document within the program. That is a real productivity booster! 3. An Interactive Region Render that works with whatever renderer is being used. 4. The ability to scatter MRProxies over meshes or selection sects (without needing an extra plugin). Peter M. Gruhn
> 1. Being able to continue working on the scene while rendering. I like working on a scene and chucking up a few variations with Maxwell in order to test variations. Work work render work work render work work render. Go watch all three in progress. Lester_Masterson
- Actually having "esc" do something when the dialogue box says "Press "esc" to cancel operation" - Have a practical way to eliminate 15 instances of "Metal-Chrome" in a scene. ( Merge several objects with slightly different properties all called "Metal-Chrome" into a scene and you'll see what I mean) - Be able to insert AutoCAD drawings with the blocks "exploded". I know there are several ways around this, but none are elegant - Bring the MS Paperclip on board so he can taunt us when we least need it. "You look like you're trying to perform a complex Boolean operation...Can I corrupt your mesh for you?" / I'm done

Crazy Homeless Guy
2. Being able to open more than one max document within the program. That is a real productivity booster! Not exactly what you want, but search for the copy and paste script, and then add it to one of your quad flight outs. This way you can launch a couple of instances of Max, with different models loaded into each, and copy and paste between the two. It is a productivity booster. lee81070
A quick and easy way of locating which texture a missing bitmap is assigned to...especially if the material editor slots are full. Actually, while I'm at it, the ability to have as many material slots as I want, not just
jsf
A Sweep tool where the mesh doesn't go black when it turns a corner. This would make it usable for things like crown and base moldings, railing caps, door casings, etc. My current work around is to extrude a profile shape and miter every corner, this is time consuming and frustrating knowing that time could be saved with a workable sweep modifier. Peter M. Gruhn
Does turning off "Smooth Path" solve your problem?
jsf
Thank you Peter. Yes, unchecking Smooth Path does remove the blackness at the corners. I didn't see your post until today, just ran a quick test and got much more favorable results. Thanks for the tip, this is going to save a lot of modeling time from now on. TJunkers
I love the 2011 Node based Material Editor but I wish there was a small bar (like in Cinema 4d) where it just shows you materials that you can drag and drop into your scene. The material editor now is HUGE!!!
