Background image too large for viewport

I have a HDRI image for my background image. I am trying to line up the sun from the HDRI image with that of my direct light source. When i view the HDRI image in the viewport it is extremely oversized. I zoom out within the viewport and the HDRI background image remains the same size. Is there a way to resize this? I have set it as spherical in my material editor.

okay, it seems that using a smaller size HDRI image has fixed the problem.

I'd like to know the solution to this problem, as well (I started a similar thread in the Vray Section). There should be a way to change the hdri environment size, right?!
