An annoying problem. 3dsmax's photometric light radomly reset to it's original value

This problem starts from version 2009,current version as 2010 still occurs.

For example, I creat a 3dsmax photometric light, choose Free Light type, and set a ies file for it, this ies file's original value is 1516, and I modify the value to 20000 to get my aim. But unfortunatly it returns to it's original value 1516 randomly for many times before the project is completed.

To correct the fault I had to change the number again and again, so annoying.......

No i mean: if u modify ur IES in a IES.EDITOR to a value of 20,000, Then u don´t need to modify it in 3dStudio max and is not going to Reset to Default seettings randomly , bcuz your default is going to be 20,000,

That makes sence ?

Or maybe i have no idea of what i am talking .

Anyways Saludos !

I have experienced the same exact issue as Skybird when I use Photometric Lights. After saving the project, closing it, and reopening it, many settings like intensity and shadow type are reset to default values - which is annoying because one time I rendered out weekend animation project, only to come back the following Monday to see that the scene was entirely too dark because the light settings had reset on all render nodes.

This problem is resolved now.

U just need to download all the patches of 3dsmax according to it's version u are using, and install all of them. After u had done that, U will never find the ies light source's value jump to it's original state radomly.

Unfortunatly, I find a new problem at the same time.

If U change the ies file's path, the value will reset to it's origin, regardless of the ies file exist in the new path or not.
