Matt Sugden
Hi I have been using PFlow in Max, to show some arrows representing pedestrian flows. The strange thing is when the instanced arrow shape 'spawns' at the particle emmiter at frame 0 it is generating at 90 degrees to the direction of the PFlow object, (this happens with every new instance of the geometry). At the moment the Pflow is setup to follow a spline, does anyone have any ideas why this might be happening? I should add, that after the first generated frame, the arrows then start to follow the spline as expected. Cheers:confused:
thatch
If it only happens on your first frame, birth the particles at -
Peter M. Gruhn
Can't sit down and play with it right now. First thought was ... can't even think of the word. The local axes thing objects have. But you said it works it out. Maybe you want to play with the order of things. All the ... doohickies in a panel get evaluated in order, not in parallel. Put the movement/speed item before the rotation item... that sort of thing. Are you spawning them with a speed of zero? Hack : Get them all set up right in an invisible event (yay, remembered a word) and then send them on to a visible one after they get turned around.
