things to consider when rendering for print?

Hi,

I've been rendering images for the web and other digital medias, but recently I was asked to render some for print (brochures) - I never done this before.

Is there something special to consider, when rendering for print? Colors? Image format? Assuming that the client is not able or willing to do much post-work.

I know it needs to be pretty big in pixels, but that's about all what I know about print.
