v-tool Posted April 28, 2010 Share Posted April 28, 2010 hello people i need a little help i imported model of terrain from archicad and it is is very unregular because i need it to be smoother and more regular for using vertexpaint, displace, noise etc. can anyone help me how to fix this model, u can see it in attached pic or do i have to remodel it in 3dmax and if so does anyone know any method or any tutorial about modeling complex terrain and roads in 3dmax thnx everyone i appriciate ur help Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

If you want a more regular surface you can create a dense plane (adjust the grid spacing depending on the level of detail you require) then use the Create/Compound/Conform command to mould it to your existing terrain. v-tool Posted April 29, 2010 Author Share Posted April 29, 2010 that Retopois very powerful thing, to bad i dnt have 3d max 2011, im still on 3d max 2009, thanx for ur help and comments, doen exsist any script or something for 3dmax 2009 that can do similar thing like "retopo" ?
