akinlolugboji
I have being able to network Wn 7 to Win 7 machines, Win Vista to Win 7 but never being successful with Win XP with Win 7. Any help on how will be appreciated. I am trying to create a render farm between these to machines.
Matt McDonald
uh...first off I don't think that running any kind of render farm over wifi is a great idea. Wifi is great for a lot of things, moving big max files or tifs or whatever isn't one of them. I'd highly recommend that you try and get some network cable running between your systems and your router. But, what is the problem with the xp machine? Can you ping it? Does it show up in your workgroup computers (I can't recall what Windows 7 calls it)?
akinlolugboji
Both systems are meant to see each other but the XP just is not co-operating. When the & OS connects and waiting for other users the XP is not, try creating a workgroup on it split out error messages. How do you ping? braddewald
+1 for not using wifi for network rendering. I've given it a shot just for kicks and the verdict is that its just too slow.
