Peter M. Gruhn
I wonder if this is a meterials incompatible with renerer issue. Like if you have Mental Ray materials in the material editor and the renderer is Scanline then you only get black.
rabea111
hi , and thanks for the reply , well i did do 2 tests , the first i use the max default render engine , and again i did change the render engine to vray , but the problem still the same on both , if you import any .dwg object into 3dmax you will see it in the 3dmax viewport in black like there is no light at all ,and you can draw any object near it with no problem for the new object.... i also tried to reinstall max as well the problem still, i tried to add a vray light , but it did not light up the object at all .... i do not know if this is a bug inside the 3dmax 2011 , but i was using the max2009 and 2010 with no problems.. thank you .... rabea111
hi , i just want to share the solution if any has the same problem as i , i figure it out how to fix the problem related to imported .dwg file , max is importing the file in black color to reset the color to grey you must do the following: 1-import the .dwg into max 2-open materiel editor and click on one of the slots 3-copy the imported 3dobject materiel into one of the materiel editor slots 4-double click on the chosen slot (it should be in black color) 5-you will see instead of (standard) button on the right word something called autodesk something, click on it 6- a new windows will open here you can see the materiel color to change.... these are the steps to fix the primary problem ,but i am just facing another problem , when i open materiel editor , sometime not always the slots are coming in white color , i do not know why.... if anyone knows the solution please help... thanking you...
