Jeff Mottle
I've just upgraded our forums to the latest version of vBulletin. There is a chance that some things might not be working as expected, so please post any issues or questions you run into here. A lot of stuff has moved to different locations in the interface as well. So I'll be answering those questions here too.
Inxa
First thing when I log in I see the new look. Very nice. A small suggestion, - I would request you to change the main menu tab color. I know it's got to match the green color of the logo, but personally I feel it could be a little different color like the dark blue color of the home, gallery, news etc. tabs. Jeff Mottle
Yeah, I know the main menu no longer matches, however the forum s stage 1 of the new site. The galleries are going to be integrated into the forums and then within the next few months the main site will be migrated as well. In the interim, things are going to look a bit mix and match. On the width, did you mean the width of the forums? If so, then this is the fixed width that everything will be following moving forward (950 px). Based on the screen resolution indicated by Google Analytics we have to target this size to ensure the vast majority of users can view the site without issue. As an aside the forums are now 150 px wider than the old version (and also the current main site)
STRAT
when i click on 'todays's posts' like in the old forums i get a long list of posts, but not todays (or at least not in an activity order). not posts i've just replied to in the last 10 mins. can there be an option where the newest replied post can be displayed in that order? the last reply post goes to top of list? i cant see where to make this happen. /edit now when i click on 'todays posts' i just get a message saying there are no new posts today. how can i view all latest posts? new or not? thanks
jsf
The update looks nice. The old format had a link "view posts since last visit", could we have that again?

Inxa
Thanks Jeff. I edited the post and removed the width point, somehow I don't know why I was okay with it once I moved around the forums a bit Jeff, will wait for the updates. As of now it's looking good for sure. A lot of people are complaining about this change on the vBulletin forms, so hopefully they will bring it back in a future point release. In the interim I've made a couple of changes that will sort of be the same. 1. On the main green menu bar you'll see a button called "Unread Posts". This will show you all of your unread posts. Once you've clicked this, in the text sub-menu below, you'll also see a link called "Mark Forums Read". Click this if you want to flag all forum posts as read. Viewing each thread individually also has the same effect. 2. Under the main green menu bar, there is a new items called "Today's Posts". This will show you all of the posts made in the last 24 hours, regardless of whether of not you've read them or not. Note: this option will not show up if you're in the "unread posts" search results. Hopefully this will work in the interim. I don't really like that they've removed the old functionality.

amer abidi
Even though this one one 'looks' better, the previous version was much easier to read and navigate... somehow, it was a lot more coherent than this one. Not to undermine all the hard work put into this though, as i know it must've been a nightmare to migrate. Best, Amer

Best, Amer If there is something specific that you think makes it more difficult to read, it may be possible to change it. If it's just a "feeling", then it might just take some getting used to. Afterall the old look was 6+ years old and this site is in dire need of a makeover. (Long overdue). Yeah this particular migration was a lot of work due to the large differences in this new version. Probably 20-30 hours of work.
bjornkn
Looks nice One thing that makes it more difficult is that now you have to go back to "Forum" all the time, to get access to the "full" menu. If you start with "Todays posts", which I usually do, you get a different, and smaller menu/submenu. If I now want to go to QuickLinks to view my subscribed threads, I have to go back to the main forum page to get access to that menu again. It didn't work like that before? Adds a lot of extra steps. Any reason why the full menu isn't accessible all the time? I loved the way CGArchitect worked before, as it was about the only vBulletin forum with Today's posts directly accessible, while it is usually "hidden" under the QuickLinks menu. Koper
just a very tiny question Jeff, everything else works good looks good and loving it. question - Is it possible to get a bigger variation between the read and un-read icons? the open and closed icons are a bit close in design and difficult to scan. thanx J

leoA4D
The large and mostly empty white and near-white areas with small near-black fonts are a bit hard on the eyes.

Matt Sugden
Well it looks pretty, but the page scrolling is appauling on my displays and makes the forum almost impossible to read while scrolling, very jerky and kind of shuffles up rather than a smooth scroll. Anyone else noticing this? I should add, this is not on the post pages as such, just the main menu/ topic overview pages

Thanks. Yeah I have a feeling a lot of the hesitations about the change are just a matter of getting used to it. Old habits are hard to break sometimes. I should add, this is not on the post pages as such, just the main menu/ topic overview pages The only difference between the versions (other than physical appearance) from the page rendering stand point is the old site was almost all table based. The new version is almost all CSS based. This should not affect how your page scrolls however. This sounds more like a video card or display issue. Bwana Kahawa
One minor niggle - twice now, I've hit 'Reply' at the end of a thread, typed out my response, then hit the large '+Reply to Thread' button below the text box, taking me back to an empty text box with all my typing gone. Okay, I could be more careful and ensure I click on the right button , but it doesn't help that the one that instantly grabs your eye is the wrong one - any chance of enlarging the 'Post Quick Reply' button or removing the '+ Reply to Thread' button once we've started replying? Other than that, looks a lot fresher. Love the green - beats the monotone of before.
