davistalexander
I seem to be having a brain freeze and cant seem to recall how to create a stone cap that follows an edited wall profile see image can anyone shed some light thanks Davis Edited May 5, 2010 by davistalexander
Jason Matthews
I have never tried this but what happens when you create a sweep in the wall element? Maybe try adding the sweep and make sure to select the top of the wall as the placement point. Then when you edit the profile it should stick to the top of the wall. Again, I have never done this myself, it is just a thought.
Jason Matthews
Well I just tried it and it doesn't work. What you will need to do is create a mass in place. Select the family that best represents the stone cap, maybe roof or wall in this situation. Rename the mass. Select sweep, then select "pick path". Go into a plan view of the roof or the level where the wall height is (i.e. level 2 or level 3). Select the walls that make up the path, in this case the two straight segment and the sloped segments. Once selected, hit "finish edit mode". Now change to the side elevation where you can draw the profile of the stone cap. Now go to the view tab and click "tile". Now hit "edit profile" and sketch the stone cap profile in the elevation. Now hit "finish edit mode" and hit "finish edit mode" and finally "finish model". If your profile is in the wrong vertical location go back and edit the profile and move it to the correct location.
