cmrhm
Anyone knows why maya is used extensively for modeling fluid form architecture? by checking their tutorial, I found it could easily build fluid form like my sketch pencil. intuitive. But I guess this isn't all their strength. without using it, I don't really know what it is. Comments here? Also, Maya can extend architects' design vocabulary, in the meantime, by mastering maya, one can improve his/her imagination on the architecture forms. Many people like me, never found a chance to put a fluid form into a real projects. By checking NOX early deisng like water pavilion, I found it is logical to put several ellipse form together to construct a wave-like environment for people to experience water. So fluid form have its own building and market, I want to prepare myself if the chances knock on my door.

AJLynn
It has some very good animation and modeling features useful for that sort of work. It's also a bit of a tradition - Greg Lynn pioneered a lot of the vocabulary of the form using Alias software on a used SGI.
