PiXeL_MoNKeY
After some posts I made to the AREA about properly documenting changes I have been asked by Ken Pimentel, and other Autodesk personnel, to provide specific examples. I have my own list, but I would like input from here to see what I may have missed. I am not looking for rants or questions about stuff that has changes. I am looking for a list of items, that have changed or been removed, that you feel should have been documented in the application help and/or other documentation(s). I hope the result of this effort can be a guideline that can be used for future releases, and documentation revisions, to ensure that users can easily find information about features that are missing or changed. Thank you for any help you can provide, -Eric
Justin Hunt
this could be very interesting, This is probably the first time I haven't gone to the help files to find out what has changed and whats not. So for it been a few little changes in workflow that has had me scratching my head, such as "Get material for selected" and saving the scene materials to a library. This one I still haven't worked out how to do it in one got. I can do it one at a time. I still got to check if this has been documented or not. I was a little confused about the process for revealing the mentalray progressive rendering and importons. Only found out after reading a long thread on CGTalk that this is done through maxscript. Once I roll 2011 out to full production I am sure I'll get more. At the moment I am half 2010 and half 2011. JHV
PiXeL_MoNKeY
I will be sending my findings soon to the 3ds Max Documentation team. If there is stuff that needs to be corrected, speak up if you want to see it fixed. -Eric
