Brian Cassil
Does anyone know about a library that might exist somewhere of traditional architectural details? Dentils, cornices, and other miscellaneous frou frou. It wouldn't need to be specific just a bunch of random stuff would be great. Free is good but I can pay for this too, so long as it isn't too expensive.
Gary Ledgerwood
Fyponcad has a bunch of traditional cornice, crown, dentil shapes, etc. http://www.fypon.com/professional/architect/fcad.asp Not sure if this would be helpful...
Brian Cassil
Not quite. I'm thinking about some pretty ornate stuff. This image would exemplify what I'm talking about pretty well. The library I'm hoping to find would not necessarily need to have any of these details specifically but, this style would be good.
GUSN
Brian, Did you look at google warehouse? I'm sure you already know they have tons of stuff. If have the connection extension for 3dsmax, you can always import those 3d models. If not, I can help you out with some cad details, but unfortunately there in 2d. Just too crude for what I need to use it for. this guy http://www.d-e-s-i-g-n.ru/ sells them. he has tons of them. he's a genius I don't know how he does this volume and quality of work. That is really nice stuff. Unfortunately, I only saw one architectural detail in there. Lots of furniture, fixtures, and accesories though, but that's not what I'm needing right now. http://www.artrecon.com/ Any use? Hmmmm... this might be worth looking into. It looks like they have literally modeled classical historic buildings and are seeling the models for them? I only need the details and depending on how it is put together it could be a more trouble then it would be worth to cut those out. It would sure be helpfull if thier website was a little easier to navigate and if they had more info on what is was that's included in the cd's. I just can't purchase that with confidence with so little info available on what it is you are actually buying. Interesting though. there are quite a few .DWG details at the cad block exchange network... http://cadblocks.net/ look under 'historic' Lots of 2D stuff. There might be some 3D stuff in there too but I couldn't find a way to filter or search by 3D. Thanks for all the suggestions guys.
