acjwalker
I had this problem a few years ago and cannot remember how I got rid of it. When I have a model in the perspective view I get black flickering on my model, I can get rid of this if you go into orthographic view. Does anyone know how to sort this out? I have attached a screen grab for you to look at. It seems to occur in thin geometry. Uploaded with ImageShack.us
Peter M. Gruhn
If two faces are close enough, they may end up sharing the same depth in the depth buffer. The way the math goes and the numbers round sometimes one face is in front and sometimes another. You are correct, this is very much a thin geometry issue. Can't have Max running right now to check, but if your video drivers offer a "use more bits" option for the z-buffer (depth buffer) then that may help. In THIS particular circumstance though I would recommend making the glazing only single face and using a thin geometry architectural glass material unless you know for some reason you really need solid glass.
