nisus
Hi all, When I import several objects - import from different files - with the same aluminium material attached to it (from a matlib), I get several aluminium materials in the material editor, instead of just one. As finetuning of the material is very annoying/tedious - you'll have to change every material or assign the same material to every object first - I wonder if someone knows about a script that makes sure that only one material exists in the scene. rgds nisus
nisus
As an addition to the previous it would be nice to have a script that can see 'instanced materials' when importing objects with mult-sub-materials attached to it that are allready in the scene. E.g. when you import a window (multi-sub-material: aluminium/glass) and you already have an aluminium material in your scene it should instance the scene-aluminium-material to the multi-sub. Anyone knows about such a script? rgds nisus
TDP
check out the blurbeta scripts: CollapseSubObjectMaterial V1.10 Put a lot of error trapping in. Added ability to reduce submaterials that are instances of each other. and the KillDuplicateMaterials v1.00 Goes through your scene. and will remove all materials that have duplicate names. Does not work on subobject materials. http://www.blur.com/blurmaxscripts/
