matt_vinoir
thats what i mean paul. I heard they are going to realse revit as an autodsk individual product. No ripping guts out of it to go into other programme. Apparently. However they never say anything do they autodesk.
Jose Antonio Gei
What about Vectorworks? I've been using it for a couple of years and it has done the job for me. But the rendering engine is slow and the image quality is not very good. For modelling and creating 2d tech documentaction is Archicad a better option? matt_vinoir
well, i really like vectorworks for 2d drawing but the 3d modelling is really slow. It has some nive features but to be honest it is a poor mans viz for modelling ( now that really is poor!) Still with vectorworks if you are happy but i think archicad is a great speedy modeller and and leaves enough scope to finish off the job in viz and its third party renders,
stefkeB
Having also used VectorWorks for about two years, I find it the fastest DRAWING CAD tool for 2D) but very limited for 3D. ArchiCAD is certainly not the best drafting tool, but the easiest architectural modeling tool (3D is default, sections/elevations, rendering, 2D and all the rest is your bonus when you make the Virtual Building work). Watch out for ArchiCAD 8. It is a big new version, adding "boolean modifiers", realtime pan/zoom, OpenGL (as an option) in the 3D-Window, much improved workflow and a lot of new tools.
