Cesar R
I have manged to add the roof tiles using some tools under the EXTRA>ROOF DETAILS menu in archicad 8. Notice that the edges where the roof tiles meet need to be covered. I am trying to model barrel tile. Is there a way to make this happen in archicad? also, how to I model trims in archicad, as seen in exterior windows and Facia? Help would be a preciated. Ace_Face
I don't have ArchiCAD 8 installed yet. Our office just purchased 50 copies. However, the way I make most of my custom details is by using GDL scripting. If you don't want to script, then the next best thing is to use the line tool to create a profile, then use the slab tool by space clicking on the profile or inside the closed profile. You can then view it in the 3D window and rotate it so you see it the way it should be viewed in plan. Then (save as object). Use your object tool to place it back into the model. Another way is to use the profiler tool in a similar fashion. Hope this helps.
Ace_Face
P.S. Isn't there a ridge tile object as part of the standard library? If not I can send you one. I'll first have to check if it can be freely distributed. Just let me know.
Cesar R
hi, I cant seem to find one. I also want to build custom items like squares that go in the wall, or facia but I have no idea of how. I think archicad need to provide a little more freedom.
Ace_Face
Cesar, The following link will allow you to download the Ridge Tile library part if you want it. It's a 6.5 version part but you should be able to open it in 8. Hope this link works. Link removed. If you need the part send me a message.
