CEJ
Hi I imagine this topic has probably been discussed at great length in the past, but it is a new subject to me. Does anyone know of any well written tutorials on this subject, which covers everything from taking the photograph on site, right through to matching my model to it, and finishing it in photoshop.....? Thanks guys.

Claudio Branch
I do alot of camera matching work and I just do it by eye. Unless you need extreme precision, just unleash the artist within you and be creative. That's why you chose to do this type of work, right? Razorback
I do alot of camera matching work and I just do it by eye. Are you doing it in the rendering program or in photoshop? Don't you have any guide lines or whatever are you just eyeballing everything?
sterealkey
Which program are you using. I know how to do very accurate camera matching in Studio Max. Its really not difficult at all, and with enough reference points its guaranteed to have it spot on every time.

Claudio Branch
Arnold, I use 3D Studio Max and of course I usually have some known dimensions about the site and the camera settings. I do alot of 3d civil visualization and on some projects - like a winding hilly road along a dam - I don't know how well it would work. If I can't make it look right by eye, then I would gladly give the tut a shot.
Razorback
Anybody can give some sort of guidelines when camera matching a background picture taken by a client using digital camera res 1600x1200. Only information given is time of day and distance from the proposed building. I'm really getting hard time eyeballing it just doesn't look right for me.
