Jason Matthews
I just downloaded Vray free from their website for Viz 4 and installed it. I have read through the manual that you can download, but I am a little confused about a few things. I am trying to do the tutorials from a chaos group, and they are talking about creating a Vray light and a Vray material. Does the free version not support these features? Thanks
quizzy
nope.... it does not. It only supports a VRAY shadow in the normal MAX-lights, and it has a reflection map for a standard MAX-material. It has the GI engine, but no photons or caustics.. That's why its free....
xgarcia
Jason, Get the demo. It's full working version aside from the watermark in the render and render-settings-reset when you attempt to save the file. Email choas group about student purchase - they will help you out. Jason Matthews
Thats what I figured. Thanks for replying so soon. Hey Xavier, we should talk. I assume you have taken advantage of your year off of school, spent a lot of time and effort on cg. That's not surprising. You always were ahead of the learning curve. Jason Matthews
I just tried to DL the demo version for viz 4, but it expired. So they took it off the website. Thanks though.
