STRAT
i'm still confused. a gable end is basically a triangle with a thickness. this really is a sintch. how are you coping with the rest of the house if this is the bit which is stumping you? davis
This is the easy Way!!! From the Design menu, choose Walls Modify Wall, or on the Walls toolbar, click . Select the wall, and press ENTER. In the Wall Modify dialog box, click . In the Wall Properties dialog box, click the Roof/Floor Line tab. With Edit Roof Line selected, click Add Gable. and now for the even simpler way of doing this... RTFM.... ..

Fernando Lino
this is my way use walltools> roofline> auto project select the walls and select your entities(slab, roof slab, roof, mass element, solid, etc or you can draw a polyline and use the same command and select "Project"

Wow, way to be helpful Strat. Usually when I don't know the answer I just don't reply. Remember, there was a time when you didn't know anything either, so don't feel like it is too low for you to give a helpful answer, or nothing at all. Kerry Thompson
Hi Scotth I extensively use the Wall project method as described by Fernando. I float the roof, in space, over the wall and the project the wall up to the roof – adjust the angle of the roof, re project the wall and it generally works with quite complex roof forms. You can also edit the wall through a dialogue. Right clicking on the wall and select “properties” Roof/floor line – this will open a dialogue which gives access to parameters which allows editing of roof and floor vertices of the selected wall. Functions like “add gable”, “add step” are available. (I use ADT 4 but similar dialogues are available for ADT3.) ADT wall gable ends are wall objects and are not made up of combined thickened triangles. Kerry
