Jape
Hello jose, If you go to the cgarchitect homepage and then click on ted boardman's monthly columns i think you will find an interesting article about using reactor for fabrics, check the february 2003 column, also i think there was a column (same page) about modeling curtains though im not sure, have a look, there are a lot of good tips there !, Also, though its up to the admins but they probably will say the same, you shouldn't cross-post, posting your question once will almost always lead to smart people helping you out, lots a smart and kind people here ! Ricardo Eloy
I would personally go for a modeling approach. You can get great results with a simple plane (editable poly) and the new Shell modifier. Play around with soft selection and you'll see what great results you can get without a cloth simulation (and it's often faster than reactor once you find your way). mazearch
fernando or someone i am hoping for a little help... i am sure it will be an easy one. i am an old guy learning max as i go teaching a digital architecture class... been a form z vectorworks type of guy for years... so here it is: worked thorugh fernando's cloth tutorial on making a flag attached to a pole... using max 6. i think i am missing a step... make the pole, make the plane... adjust the number of segments... modify it to reactor cloth. make rb collection, make cloth collection... add pole and plane to collections respectively... use mesh select modifier on plane.. select vertex points to attach to rigid body... THEN when i run an animation in reactor, the flag just falls off the gosh darned pole. my TA (member of cg arch) cannot figure out what i did wrong... please help.. would like to show to class. Jason Matthews
Maze, try posting a new thread in the max forum, instead of posting om the end of another thread. This will have more opportunity of getting replied to. Jason
