Hi!

I've just started to dig into 3ds Viz that is a pretty new program to me.

Im used to Microstation and Lightwave.

BUT I've understood that 3ds Viz needs a better render image to produce nice images.

I've tryed the Brazil Rio and it works ok, but there are a bunch of render engines out there.

So what should I use?

I've got some wishes for it:

1. It should work with Autodesk Viz, 3ds Viz R3, 3ds Viz R4.

2. It should handle RPC's.

3. It should handle IES files.

4. It should be able to create nice exterior and interior architectual renderings.

Is there a easy way to decide or should I try them all?

regards Patrik

you can produce very nice images with RADIOSITY from VIZ look in the gallery look at fran's posts

radiosity is not a bad render

all renderer need much work before gettig any good results

so tryin all of them is almost impossible

cause u need to master a little before having ur own mind about it

so

u should first stick to radiosty

but if u have much time

then try VRay and brazil....

good luck

:)

Ok then, my nxt question:

HOW do I use radiosity in Viz??

I cant find any settings that includes radiosity.

Atmospheric lightening is that it?

I thought that VIZ didnt handle Radiosity, and if I reed the help it says:

"3DS VIZ lighting does not calculate the effect of radiosity based on objects in the design. To simulate radiosity, use the Environment dialog to set the color and intensity of ambient light."

"Tip: To better simulate radiosity and variations in radiosity due to the varying reflectivity of objects in the design, you can add more lights to a design and set them to exclude the objects you don't want them to affect. You can also set up lights to affect only the ambient component of surfaces. See General Lighting Parameters."

So you have to cheat radiosity?
