Iquil
Hello people of CGArchitect. I'm Luke and have just recently gained an interest in CG, Graphic Design, and artwork in general. Look Forward to talking to you all. I would like some help from those of you willing to help me out. I'm writting a story and would like to make a CG movie out of it. Seeing as I have only just got into this part of the computer world, I don't know what it is that I need to creat such a thing. This is a big project for me and I would like if any of you interested in it would help me out and teach me some things along the way . No I wouldn't force it all on you, just 90% of it . So if any of you are interested please tell me and ask any questions that you want to. I hope that I will make new friends within this group and learn from all of you. OH and what in your opinions is the best CG software out there and also what Graphics Card should I have for best results?? Thank you
Ernest Burden III
Welcome, I suggest you soak up as much as you can about the movie industry. I have been interested in that for my whole life and have always bought and read books about moviemaking and especially those 'art of---" books for sci-fi CG films. Read the VFX Pro website to learn more and more and more about the industry. Understand film-making. There is a great book Shot By Shot by Steve Katz that will help you a lot in understanding how to put a film together (from a director's point of view). You can also read Cinefex magazine, though they annoy me by never having pre-viz material like lighting studies, storyboards and concept art. Also, most CG-heavy movies these day have all that pre-viz stuff as 'bonus material' on DVD versions of the films, try Monsters, Inc first. Good luck!
