For example, when i work with city plans, those plans have a lot of layer, and i mean a lot!, they have a layer for each kinda information, topographical, power lines, building lines, sidewalk lines, sewer lines, vegetation, gas lines, i dunno, but it could have 50 or so layers, and when im wokring with them i usually delete all the info i dont need, all the layers i wont use or need, etc, to clean up the file, but when i run the PURGE command there still a lot of layers that i cannot purge, even if i already deleted whatever was contained in them.

Example, i have 3 layers, topographic curves, texts and buildings, i dont want the TEXT layer, so i "hide" the other 2, and i sleect and delete all the texts in the drawing, now theres no TEXTS anymore, i click on purge, and it doesnt deletes the layer TEXT, like if theres a text i didnt delete so i cannot purge the layer, why is that?

there are different ways to clean your file up.

the most easier way is ...turn on just the layer that you want to work...use wblock...select all.

if you want to use the same file...fist erase the views and layouts then use purge, save the file, close it and open again with recover.

I'll go with the first one!

Buena suerte!!!
