Telemachus
Hey gang! I am an Autodesk VIZ 4 user, who is looking for a 3D tree application to add realism to my scenes. My current project is a streetscape for a soon-to-be-built community, taken from a worm's eye view. The street needs a fair variety of trees, as well as plants and flowers for front yard landscaping. Do you find that one application has a distinct adavantage over the other? I was looking through the galleries on this Web site and, from what I can tell, it seems that many of the trees were created using Speed Tree. Is this correct? Bionatics seems like a good choice for now, considering the company is having a year-end sale. They also seem to have a much larger group of plants and flowers. Speed Tree seems to have a very limited number of plants and flowers, as they seem to focus more on trees. On the other hand, you get many more trees upfront with the Speed Tree package. Simply stated, I'm looking for the biggest bang for my buck, as well as variety and ease of use. Which product do you use? Thanks for any advice you can give, as well as your time, Telemachus

Telemachus
Ah, one more question. Is it possible to use a combination of both sets of trees (Bionatics and SpeedTree)in the same scene to be rendered?
Ricardo Eloy
Yes, it is. Actually, as far as I'm concerned, you can use almost all tree plugins together with no probs. I've used ForestPack, Speedtree and Treestorm, for instance, in one scene with great results. [] Rick
