graphix
Well I am on the quest for some software. I have decided that I would like to start doing freelance work on my own outside of work, I do some 3D work at work but would like to spend more time doing it. Only problem is I don't have any of the software for my personal use and dont have the front money for all the expensive software new. So here's the question: Does anyone out here have an extra/old copy of photoshop 6 or better? Adobe Premiere (any version)? Autocad 2002 or better? Autdesk Viz 4? 3dStudio Max 5 or better? Thanks Guys, Graphix
STRAT
unfortunately the answer to that question is a 99% no. first off you'd be lucky if peeps do have extra copies just floating around, second off you'd be doubly extra lucky if they got spare copies floating around they'd be willing to give away, and third off, if you we super lucky to get an official above board application given to you, you'll probably find companies like Autodesk, Discreet, Adobe etc etc will refuse to lisence you. they get awfully picky about this type of thing. it's not just a simple case of buying the software off a m8 for instance, it needs to be officially lisenced too. Josh1587140445
I am having the same problem. I am doing a lot of modeling here at work. But I would also like to do it on the side to make a little more money and to refine my skills. But I already own photoshop 7 because right out of school I started doing web sites on the side, but that is kind of slow and modeling is definitely more of a strength. So there are many modeling programs out there, some much cheaper than others, but I do not want to go thru the learning curve. Especially since I have been using VIZ for about 3 or 4 years now. I was doing good for awhile putting some of my web jobs money aside to pay for VIZ instead of using the good old credit card. But since my wedding is coming up in a few months and we are looking at buying a house. Well needless to say those funds have been depleted. graphix
Thanks for the input guys. Its ruff starting out wanting to be legit with your software. And these apps are the ones that I can "bang" out projects with quickly. Was just hoping someone had bought a full version of photoshop 7 and had an old photoshop 6 floating around, just some wishful thinking so I thought I would ask. Can anyone suggest a good place to purchase this type of software from? Thanks, graphix
Craig Jolly
Justin at the CAD Store has always given me a good price on 3D software, but I don't think they have Photoshop. Last year they had a 12 months same-as-cash offer, but I don't know if they have any current lease or pay over time promotions. http://www.thecadstore.com You might try www.insight.com for your other software, they have a thorough selection and pretty competitive prices, plus they're a local company. They have Photoshop 8 for $618. Good luck with the freelancing. Do you have a portfolio link?
