gnuhong
Guys, Does anyone know any website that has tutorials (or show some guidelines) on how to make a good architectural walk(-or fly)through animation? I am looking for some guidance (- not in software or technical manners but more to the general guides), like how to make a good point of view, how to set the camera movement, what kind of background music to choose, etc etc. Thanks! alexg
Hi Gnuhong I think the best way is to see Oceanpic's work posted on the other thread. He produce the best cg arch animation I've ever seen. The first step to do a walkthrough will be to create some kind of storyboard showing keypoints and highlights of the projects during animation. Based on that information you will be able to set up the camera path and keyframing. Once the walkthrough is rendered, you can start tweaking some background music to fit the animation. Sounds easy, but really takes a lot of time experimenting Cheers AlxG
alexg
Or you might want to checkout the 'cinematography' section in bookstores. There are some books about film making, storyboarding, and camera setup.
IC
The first thing to learn is that you decide how long the camera is going to take to get from the start point to the end point and then set keyframes to fix these in space and time. Then, go back and fill in the route with additional keyframes(as few as possible). The rest can be learned as already mentioned i.e. look at good quality examples.
