Ernest Burden III
Anyone tried this software ??? verdant/treegeneratorNo, but I had a look at the site when it was a news item. It looks like a model-based image generator. The idea is good. It looks like it is based on an L-system plant generator. I played with L-systems when they hit the 3D BBS's in the early 90's. The results are very close to natural looking, but miss the mark just enough to be creepy. The website shows the base models, but not the images applied to photos/renderings, so I would want to see them in real work before saying they are good. nisus
Damn! I've been painting trees manually for two days now... I forgot about it, as I've read the post when it was in the news... rgds nisus
DennisB
Rather than post a self-promo link, please see some of my posts here on 2D trees and tutorials on how to paint them. If, after trying it for yourself, you want more info you can strip the URL to get to the main site. While a number of architectural schools and illustrators use our products, it's virtually impossible to reach the architectural community. Advertising is simply way beyond my budget. Hope that explains the otherwise commercial nature of the post. Dennis@DigArts
ingo
Hi Dennis, great to see your company is still alive, i remember your products when i tested Painter years ago, a lot of nice painted trees. The only problem is i now work mostly with real 3D trees, since most archviz programs can easily handle large amount of polys. Maybe Jeff can make a review of your trees, that gives you at least a little bit promotion and an overview for us here at cga for what kind of workstyle your trees are suitable. regards
