hydroponik Posted March 31, 2004 Share Posted March 31, 2004 hello m8s..im a new user to this forum...by the way its a great community and the site is awesome...ive learned a lot from here...ive came here to consult...i use to have a dual PIII800 mainly i worked audiostuff but i changed to a new p4 1.6a the thing is that now im more into 3dmodelling and stuff...still doing my normal audio production/edit too...i was wondering which would had better performance for both..i use winxp..i know that xp is multitasked OS..the other thing is the difference of ram..my board of the dual accepts 1.5g ram...but the p4 only accepts 1g..so the question whick setup will be more convinient for 3d modelling/render Greetz and thnx for the attention Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Greg Hess Posted April 2, 2004 Share Posted April 2, 2004 2000 uses less resources, and is generally less boggy then 2k. On a older system like a Dual 800, every bit of resources saved is that much more important. Doesn't really much matter if you have a dual 248 Opteron, but when your under a ghz, every bit matters GREATLY. I usually won't even consider installing XP on a sub 2 ghz machine.
