WDA,

I guess you have done these in the past?? Or have you been in one of these before. Just Kidding. I'm not sure about the ergonomics of these type of places. They just give me the work and I create it. I haven't been working at this company for very long so I don't know all about the designs and things of that sort. It definitely different from doing residential work that's for sure. Sorry I can't answer your question.

Look at the bright side--you don't have to model a bunch of soft, cushy furniture. I like your choices of viewpoint. If you wanted to add people to the work you could just mine photos out of celebrity fan websites. The overall coloration is very green, of course. I wonder if you could push the greens a little bit more away from one color, to get what visual life you can from a space that is designed to be not so fun.

Last year I did a guest crit for a friend's architectural design class. The students were interpreting Piranesi's Prisons. The professor knew I have been working on a series of drawings like that myself (I even had put the professor as the subject of one of them). The students did some great work, but one of them mentioned as an asside as he was presenting his design that he had made a hallway unusually tall and narrow to make the prisoners feel small. YES!!! Once in a while someone gets it! This student understood that the prisons were designed to be oppressive, to be mean and intimidating. It's not just a 'correctional facility' it is architecture as punnishment. I really hope that student goes on to become an architect.

Ernest,

Yes it looks to be on the green side. I was given this color scheme by the ones I work for. I could possibly push the greens a little more. I have to agree with you on the building of furniture. Definitely not alot of furniture to build here. Although I don't mind a few challenges here and there. Thanks for the comments on the camera angles as well. I think that is a challenge in itself to come up with a camera angle that is suitable and brings out the best in the space you design or get to work on.

With all the work you do, It's hard to believe you have time to do those types of outings. Where do you find the time? Thanks for the crits.

Salf,

I guess I'll have to watch 'Oz'.

It looks pretty much like the one on the HBO series "OZ"
LOL, when I first saw the images I was like hey he modeled the set from Oz. I've only seen about half of about 2 episodes as I'm not into shows about the goings on in a prison. Especialy when most of it seemed to be a game they play called "drop the soap". There is nothing hollywood about that show -hardcore all the way.

What software did you render the images with? Looks very Lightscape-ish
