I want a flag

The Union Flag or 'Jack' as its more commonly known (although that name should actually only be used in nautical terms) is a mixture of the Scottish English and Irish flags.

It's now become so associated with football hooliganism and anti-Catholic bigotry(I won't even start giving the history of either of these) that people have become slightly confused as to what it stands for.

It's a pretty awful looking thing anyway.

well it's like if the usa's states all had different flags. which they dont.

the UNITED KINGDOM isn't actually a single country. it's a nation comprised of 4 separate countries, hence 4 separate flags. even tho the uk has it's own united flag.

You got the proud Celts, like brothers in arms - the Welsh, Scotts and the Irish, then you got those funny saxons, um.....er.....the englishers. which are a strange bunch as they hate the Celts and the Celts hate them. But we're all still (in the whole) pround to be called Brits

heck, dont ask me, i only live here

That's why I asked Jeff why I couldn't have a California flag. Speaking of which--I'm going there next week. YEA!

But that 'united flag' is NOT the Union Jack?

I proudly trace my ancestry to the Scotts, 'englishers' and Welsh. And since my wife's lineage is Irish and Scottish, our sons cover the entire Britttish Isles. What great boys they are!

If you want a different flag for England then please email me a image of the flag that is similar in appearance to the ones currently displayed, and I will enter it into the system.

As for Provincial, Conferderate, and State flags, I'll have to pass on that one. I'll end up spending a week formatting flags for everyone otherwise.:)
