dleon
Howdy, I have seen many outstanding pieces done with Viz4 (sans Lightscape). Of course, this is an Autodesk product so it might as well be a Discreet product. As a lover of 3ds Max, I have to wonder if it might be beneficial to have Viz4 also? The interface snapshots I have seen looks extremely similar to 3ds Max. I have also noted that FinalRender and VRay both work fine with Viz4. Is there any point in getting Viz4 if you have Max already? Is Viz4 just a revised/redacted version of Max as one individual suggested? Does it have unique features not associated with Viz4? Chad Warner
Essentially, Viz is a stripped down version of Max. There really would be no reason to also own Viz if you already own Max. -Chad
Jason Matthews
I agree with Chad. Basically, it is max without the animation features (warps, forces, etc.) It also has no xtra renders (menatl ray, light tracer, etc) I hear that Viz 5 is supposed to have an xtra renderer though. Anyways, there is really no point in having both. -Jason
