Jim Mann
Went last year, and I thought it was poor...and expensive! I won't be going this time around. Hmm, I was looking at going but the price of flights was holding me back. It seems that you can travel anywhere in Europe for about 50p these days. Unless of course you want to get to Copenhagen which is about £300 return. I think you just decided it for me. I didn't want to go all the way there and find it to be like the old C3 conferences or Digital Media World. Anybody have any good experiences to relate...or cheap flight tips? Jim Jim I wasn't meaning the flights, but the entrance fee! I think it cost about £400 for the 2 days conferences! The Expo was useless. It took about 5 minutes to look around the few stands. Jeff Mottle
I'll be there for the first time this year and have heard that the floor was not all that good last year. However, from the experienced SIGGRAPH attendees I was told that this show was much more about the networking due to it intimate size. Last year was my 6th or 7th consecutive SIGGRAPH and in the last several years I've come to find that I am spending more time in meetings, parties and social gatherings than I am on the show floor or in sessions. It's ALL about the networking!

nisus
Hi all, Expensive... yes, entry fees are, but so is the whole of Denmark and Scandinavia... Flights are okay, stays too when you go B&B or hostels... The expo... The size of the floor is only about twice our office... really, it's very very small!!! But like Jeff said, networking... But imho, the AVC is quite worth it... I like the difference sessions, not too much the panel discussions because one has more remarkable chats off track... (networking?) ,-p Anyway, those of you who like larger expo's in Europe, be sure to check out the IBC in Amsterdam, every year, half Septembre... I'll try to be there too... ;-) rgds nisus
