Ernest Burden III
Anyone kind enough to send me a 3d model of a horse, preferably with someone on it! I doesn't need to be too detailed. What sort of detail level, what pose? Poser4 has horses, (though I'd have to re-install it on one of my machines), here are some 'mods' shown at planit3d.com that give you an idea of what's possible. I just looked at it on my laptop and I see that they have a set of basic walking and standing around and galloping pose pre-sets. Poser models can be exported including a UV texturemap, but the polycounts can be high, though this can be reduced with other software. What timefrme are you looking at? Iain Denby
Sorry Ernest...I need it in the next 16 hours.
Ernest Burden III
Have I missed something? No, I was thinking of a live horse, prancing through a rendering. You are making a statue. I will try to save out a poer model for you, it's just that it's the evening here, so within that timeframe I will have to do that tonight or early tomorrow, but I promise to try. A poer model will be very good.
Iain Denby
Thank you Ernest. But don't go out of your way, I'm doing a conceptual image for this job, so It's not critical, I could use the photo and apply blur, distort, noise, sketch filters, wave, more blur, lots more noise........
Ernest Burden III
you bounder, you cheat! That's actually something one Beatle is heard saying to another on a studio tape while cutting a song (and screwing up a take). I hope it's not anything too bad to say in public! And what are the odds I would miss-spell 'Poser' twice the same way? I'm not even drunk. I will pose the horse on my laptop, no need to re-install on a more capable machine, that one will do.
Ernest Burden III
OK, I did it, now where to send it? You have your email address hidden. Here's what I came up with: A few points: I managed to get one hand turned around--looks broken, but I am not skilled at posing in Poser, so I'm luck to have gotten the guy on the horse at all--and you say its schematic. Also--I don't know how Poser sizes models, but this didn't come into Lightscape at any known unit, meters or feet, so it will need to be scaled. And finally, Poser translates one axis negative, so it will need a 90 degree transform around one of 'em, X or Y. Disclaimers out of the way, I just don't know where to send it! Iain Denby
Ernest Brilliant! Thank you very much, I apopreciate it. I suddenly realised after I wet to bed that I hadn't given you my email, but downloaded it successfully.
nisus
And what are the odds I would miss-spell 'Poser' twice the same way? I'm not even drunk. What an excellent idea of 'savings'... I wonder what you do when you ARE drunk nisus
Ernest Burden III
I wonder what you do when you ARE drunkIt's ugly. And embarrasing, so I try to stay not drunk. In fact I have a very low tollerance to alcohol so three beers is too much for me. And then I go downhill very fast. I shouldn't drink at all--but beer is so good, so good you see. (At least two of them are). So I will drink it in a box and I will drink it with a fox, and on a train and in the rain, and with a goat.... But back to the horse--horse delivered, another fine day in rendering land!
nisus
In fact I have a very low tollerance to alcohol so three beers is too much for me. I go downhill right after the first half... but than again, I only drink heavy (dark) Belgian beer, especially 'trappisten' like Rochefort 8 and 10, chimay blue and red,... mmm... delicious! rgds nisus
