Hi! Just a hint.

In the last 10 years, when practicing architecture in diferent firms i've been working with both Archicad (v4.5>6) and Autocad (10>2000). And my favorite is.... Allplan.

In fact i've change my software in my office about a year ago to Allplan, and i could'nt have chosen better. I't has the best of both worlds...

- Parametric objects, (walls, slabs, stairs, windows, doors etc) like Archicad.

- Precision in drafting - i never liked those 'hot-spots' snaps in Archicad, giving the impression that the software laked precision.

- Huge library off symbols.

- Great 2d and 3d tools - even better than Autocad

- Fast Open-GL viewer.

- And a never ending list off modules, (Paint, shadow, render, Structure calculation, etc).

You build the 3d model while doing 2d architectural drawings. Then you can re-use the 3d model to work with LS, 3dstudio or Cinema4d. Works fine with me...

Having worked with both ArchiCAD & AutoCAD I only know Allplan from demoes, but AFAIK it didn't meet my expectations.

I must admit that the last demo I saw wasn't done very well and the program seemed to have problems for a lot of the basic ArchiCAD possibilities.

All by all not very convincing.

Maybe you can prove me wrong?
