Hi

This is my first atempt using radiosity. Please help me improve this.

I could not change the transmittance and reflectivity for materials where i have not used a diffuse map. Is that necessary?

Thanks

hi,

the first picture is nice... for the second one, the light is just too strong.

did you use the GI for both pictures?

Anyway, the transmittance is very important for the GI, you can change it with the bitmap params (RVB level).

The reflectance values need to be within the normal range to get realistic results with radiosity. For simple materials that don't use bitmaps, reduce reflectance by decreasing the Value of the Diffuse color. When using the daylight system, you may also wish to reduce Saturation some.

What did you do to the second image? It looks really bad compared to the first one.

Hi

I used radiosity for both images.Increased the intensity of sun for the second one because i felt the first is dark, especially the corners. Trying to decide what looks right.

Still working on it. Will post more soon.

Thankyou for your comments.

keep in mind that you can use more than one light source with radiosity...otherwise you can increase the number of bounces in your GI engine (i have got this option in finalrender) for the black in the corners.

Brightness and Contrast in Logarithmic Exposure Control are interactive and you don't need to re-run a solution to test the results. Try going back to your original sun intensity then adjusting brightness and contrast.

Hi

Thanks a lot for your help.

I am doing this project to explore radiosity, so i did not want to use any other lights. I tried upto 8 refine iterations but the dark corners are still there.

I got better results with the brightness/contrast.

Do Comment. Thanks
