kind of animation but what ?

Hi all,

 

I saw something on a meeting and couldn't understand how that was made:

there was camera in the middle of a room and as you move your pointer closer to the side of the animation borders (left or right) the scene was turning as you were in the middle of the room and turning around yourself I think that was something like flash animation or shockwave but I'm not sure maybe you know something about this and a tutorial to work on things like these

It could be flash or director, also, or even java, but most likely it's QTVR.
