Hi Zane, My classes at http://www.virtualpartners.com in Green Bay, WI focus on architectural topics for max and viz. In the meantime you might check my book 3ds max Fundamentals by New Riders Publishing. With VIZ 2005 the exercise can be used and many of the topics are architectural/mechanical based. For example, terrain from traced topo maps, exterior lighting, interior modeling, lighting and materials. There is a chapter on modeling an accurate boat hull and a couple special effects chapters that have no equivelent in VIZ 2005, but the majority would be very helpful to get you started on the right foot. Hope to see you in WI sometime and good luck. Ted
