carlangas
I am building my first model in 3ds, its a 3 story home. I am taking the 2d geometry from an acad dwg and importing it to 3ds to extrude it. my approach to this was extruding the walls one story at a time leaving gaps for the windows/doors and later filled in the gaps. well it looks ok but when i started applying textures I get all kinds of different scaled textures on the objects, even after I apply uvw mapping I get different scales. so how do I correct this. and secondly, how do you guys model in the windows/doors spaces in the walls??? thanks for your help!!! muzzy
You can use MAX6 or VIZ windows, doors or check those tutorials http://www.cgarchitect.com/resources/tutorials/smoke3d/tutorial13.asp http://www.cgarchitect.com/resources/tutorials/smoke3d/tutorial14.asp
carlangas
thanks, those tutorials are really good. I am reading a book called Harnessing 3ds max 5. The book is preety good but they dont really go into architectural modeling in detail so all of those tutorials should keep me busy for a while.
