Mokiloke
I have been asked to do a night scene for the first time and dont have much of an idea of the best way to approah things, and there is so little in the way of tutorials dealing with it. Can anyone recommend any tips and technique, are HDRIs any use or will they slow you down. So far I have about 10 dark blue lights to light the unlit part of the building, but the rest of my lighting looks ordinary. Also any photoshop techniques would be good for this. Mokiloke
Its looking okay so far but I unfortunately cannot post an image on this job due to all the nasty confidentially agreements I signed. So far I have some nice headlight streaks done in photoshop using many layers of screen and gaussian and motion blur. Similar for windows. I have a dark blue light to light the scene which looks okay. I think what I need to do is put more lighting internally. For the link I posted do they use ambient only omnis to light internally or is this internal luminosity produced some other way
Joel Gray
I just posted this for another forum recently. It's just few concepts you might find helpful --> http://www.g3d.net/moon.htm Here are the higher resolution images if you're interested --> http://www.g3d.net/hellbeck.htm The glass is frosted in some areas, so the look may be different that what you are after.
