pnel77
Wazzup! Here some images created with sunlight-system in Viz4...Any obvious mistakes and where can I improve? Also need advice concerning producing HIGH QUALITY animations - currently I'm rendering x amount of JPegs (takes less space, up to 3000 images on a go..) and afterwards I compile them in Adobe Premiere. The exported movie quality is not bad, but it could be better - ANY ADVICE???!
Jason Matthews
They look nice so far. There seems to be some AA problems though. Try to adjust it. I think it is under the sunlight parameters. There are a lot of splotches on the walls and floors. Try setting your refinements up higher. What is the filtering set on? In the second redering, the wall that contains the door looks like more of a cream color compared to the other wall. Should they be the same, or is this a radiosity problem? The wood flooring looks a tad too red. Maybe back off the color a little and see what that does. In the first image the door mapping looks weird. And it looks like a transome window is behind the paneling above the door. Maybe take out the window, or remove the paneling. As far as the animation goes, are you saying that you render image by image and then drop then into premiere? If so, that is insane. Just render out the animation like normal. You can jack up the settings in the render output. It is all about the compressor you use. I typically set mine on mpeg 4 encoding, and .mov file for the animation. Then in premiere, export it differently if changes are made. Another thing to consider is to render the animation at faster rate, say 1/3 faster than normal. Then in premiere, change the speed to 65% or so. Saves time in rendering, and reduces the amount of frames you render, thus reducing the file size. Good luck. It might be benificial to post your radiosity settings.
pnel77
Appreciate your comments Saturn. Refinements = 2 Filtering = 3 These settings are probable a bit low so I'll experiment further. The wall is all the same color - I think the colour change could be over exposure because of my sunlight settings. *I normally use the following settings when setting up a interior scene: 1. Sunlight system - intensity round about 1000, Sky multiplier 0.5 2. Radiosity settings: Refinements = 2 Filtering = 4 Global subdivision of 150mm Also Brigntness round about 60 65% Initial quality Animation: The reason I render image for image is because I usually leave the animation overnight to render, so by doing it that way I don't lose/corrupt all my data when there is a power failure or what ever! Thanks, I'll try the MPeg4 compressor! Regards..
Jason Matthews
Ok, turn the refinments up to like 25. I know it will take a long time, but sometimes it is worth it. Try turning the sin up to about 80000 and skylight of 1 or 2. Then you can get more contrast at the windows and doors, thus giving a feeling of the space rather than just an image of a space. Turn up the inital quality to about 85%. I think maybe this is the issue with the quality of the renderings. Try it and repost. -Jason
