Michael Earley
I dont know why but for some time I have beleived that you can only have 1.5 times the virtual ram as to your real ram. I just saw in a post that someone has 2 x 5000 in thier virtual ram settings. I have one machine with 500 mg ram and I have set the vr to 1500 and I keep getting xp errors that my vr setting is to low, how how can you set it without wasting hard disk space with area conserved for swap that will never be used? Michael Earley
Hi I have 2 page files on my both hdds if you thought about me. 1.5 x the available RAM is just a "prescription" from windows. It works very well on my PC as i wrote in a post before. Do a search and you will find that. You get errors probably because you dont have too much free space on your HDD. I would buy a bigger HDD and another 512RAM. Cheers. Thanks mark, How do you add a second page file? The machine I mentioned is only a p3 and the motherboard is maxed at 512mb. I have pleanty of freee space as I only have max on that computer and have a 40 gig hard drive. thanks
