LunaCyborg
What would be the best way to illuminate an external scene in 3dmax 6 for animation without paying to much for the rendering time, and what color the lights should have in order to get a sunny day appearance? voltaire_ira
try making a sky dome lighting rig for exterior scenes. Its a way of faking global illumination for outdoor which produces results similar to g.i. if done correctly. try reading the tutorials about it in the resource page or try the link http://www.cgarchitect.com/resources/tutorials/smoke3d/tutorial8.asp Its fast and good for animations and its very easy to set-up. the color of your sun would be a pale color of unsaturated yellow and blueish for your sky.
